Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz will head the Saudi high-ranking delegation to the virtual "Leaders Summit on Climate,” the Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday.
Just three months into office, US President Joe Biden will welcome on Thursday 40 leaders for the two-day Earth Day summit.
The summit is an extension of the global efforts to address challenges of climate change and mitigate its effects, SPA said.
King Salman’s participation affirms the Kingdom's pioneering role in addressing climate change mainly after the Crown Prince's recent announcements on the Saudi Green and Middle East Green initiatives, the news agency added.
