King Salman Sponsors King Khalid Prize 2019 Award Ceremony

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz sponsored on Monday the King Khalid Prize 2019 award ceremony.

He bestowed the prizes on to the nine winners, who were awarded in three categories: Development Partners, Excellence for Non-Profit Organizations and Sustainability.

The event was held in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

The Development Partners award was granted to the developers of the Wateen app, which is a national platform for blood donation in the Kingdom. Founder of the initiative, Dr. Tamim Mohammed al-Ghannam received the award.

The Excellence for Non-Profit Organizations award was granted to the OSRATY association in Madinah.

The Sustainability award was granted Saudi Aramco’s Yanbu refinery.

Now in its 11th year, the King Khalid Award honors the people, organizations and initiatives solving complex social challenges with creativity and skill, and empowers others to follow in their footsteps.

The award not only encourages the rise of sustainable business practices, but also illuminates the vital role played by individual change-makers and the nonprofit sector in transforming Saudi society for the better.
