Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received well-wishers on Sunday at a palace gathering in Mina attended by royals, clerics, military leaders, ministers and distinguished guests to mark the first day of Eid al-Adha.

Saudi Arabia has "fulfilled its duty for the sake of Allah and welcomed the guests of Allah without exception and provided them with all the services needed to perform their Hajj ritual with ease, comfort, security and tranquility," the king said.

He also lauded the military and security services on their efforts in the service of pilgrims as well as in the defense of the homeland.

Under close supervision and clad in white robes signifying a state of purity, the faithful converged on Sunday on Jamarat to perform the stoning of the devil ritual from a three-story bridge.

They will return to the bridge over the next two days for more stoning before returning to Makkah to pray at the Grand Mosque at the end of Hajj.
