King Salman: Saudi Arabia Is for Everyone

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman stressed that all citizens in Saudi Arabia are equal, and any Saudi can file a complaint and prosecute anyone.

Speaking at a reception held at the palace in Medina, in an impromptu speech, King Salman urged people to speak up and advise him to the best of the religion, country or other civilians.

“This country since the reign of King Abdulaziz and his sons after him Saud, Faisal, Khalid, Fahd and Abdullah – may God have mercy on them – all follow the path of the father King Abdul Aziz – may God have mercy on him – and his ancestors in this country,” said the Custodian.

King Salman asserted he was honored to be named Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, adding: "We serve the houses of God and serve Makkah and Medina," where pilgrims come reassured to perform their religious duties."

Earlier, the monarch inaugurated several new projects in the region.

As soon as he arrived at the palace, King Salman was received by Governor of Medina Prince Faisal bin Salman, and Vice Governor of Medina Prince Saud bin Khalid al-Faisal.

Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman al-Fadhli delivered a speech in which he praised the Custodian’s efforts in inaugurating the new desalination plant and supplying electric power in Yanbu.

Earlier, the Ministry said the General Establishment for Water Desalination is working to fulfill the kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Health Minister Tawfiq al-Rabiah thanked his royal highness’s generous support for the health sector. In his speech, the minister announced King Salman's decision to transfer the new Miqat General Hospital into a specialized hospital and include it within King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.

On Wednesday, King Salman inaugurated the King Salman Center for International Conference in Medina.

Upon his arrival at the venue, the King was received by Prince Faisal bin Salman and Prince Saud bin Khalid al-Faisal, as well as Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Finance Mohammed al-Jadaan, and other senior, civil as well as military, officials.

The King toured the 91,000 meters cubed center, where he was briefed by Finance Minister of Finance on the project explaining its total size and overall capacity of the main auditorium, the main multi-purpose halls and other administrative, technical, back up and media accessories annexations.

The Custodian also attended a visual presentation at the main hall and watched a display of King Abdulaziz Complex project for endowment libraries. Sec-Gen of the Complex Hussein al-Sarihi also gave a presentation on the rare collections of manuscripts, some of which date back to over one thousand years, ago, including a handwritten Holy Quran dated before 940 years.
