Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz offered his condolences on Saturday to the Indonesian president in wake of a plane crash in the Asian country earlier in the day.

In a cable to President Joko Widodo, he offered his condolences to him, the families of the victims and the people of Indonesia.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, also sent a similar cable.

A jet carrying 62 people lost contact with air traffic controllers minutes after taking off from Jakarta on a domestic flight. Debris found by fishermen was being examined to see if it was from the missing plane, officials said.
