Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received in Tunis on Saturday Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
Chahed welcomed King Salman in Tunisia, describing his visit as historic. For his part, King Salman underlined the strength of ties that bind Riyadh and Tunis.
The officials discussed cooperation between their countries and ways to develop them.
Earlier, King Salman received an honorary doctorate in the field of Arab and Islamic Civilization from Tunisia’s University of Kairouan.
The honor was bestowed upon him by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Slim Khalbous.
Also on Saturday, King Salman was granted the Golden Key of Tunis by the mayor of the capital Suaad Abdelrahim.
