Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired on Tuesday the cabinet session in NEOM, Tabuk, stressing the need for all preparations be completed by the country’s various sectors to serve pilgrims in Makkah, Medina and the holy sites.

He directed all the sectors to provide pilgrims with quality services.

King Salman also congratulated the pilgrims from the Kingdom and abroad for arriving in the holy sites and getting the chance to carry out the Islamic ritual.

During its session, the cabinet praised the establishment of the Saudi- Bahraini Coordinating Council, which will include political, military, economic, investment, media and social committees.

The Council is aimed at increasing bilateral cooperation and integration in a mutually beneficial way.

Cabinet members offered condolences on the death of King Salman’s brother Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz while the King thanked foreign leaders, officials, envoys and citizens for their condolences.

Following the session, Dr. Issam bin Saad bin Saeed, minister of state, cabinet member and acting minister of media, told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that a number of reports on regional developments were tackled.

He expressed his deep condolences to Tunisia’s government and people on the death of President Beji Caid Essebsi.

Bin Saeed said the cabinet also expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation of the terrorist bombing that targeted the mayor's office in Mogadishu, Somalia and the terrorist attacks in Kabul, Afghanistan, and northeastern Nigeria.

He extended condolences to the victims’ families and the governments and peoples of Somalia, Afghanistan and Nigeria and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's solidarity with them against all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism.

Among the decisions adopted during the session was authorizing the interior minister or his deputy to discuss with Kuwait a draft cooperation agreement between the two governments to combat drug trafficking and smuggling and discussing with Iraq a security cooperation agreement.

It also approved a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Interior Ministry and China’s Public Security Ministry to combat cyber-crime.
