Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz bestowed on Tuesday the Order of King Abdulaziz to two Saudi students who drowned earlier this month while trying to save children in the United States.

Theeb al-Yami and Jaser al-Rakah drowned while attempting to save two American children in the Chicopee River Massachusetts. The children survived, but the students were caught by the current and drowned.

King Salman received the relatives of the deceased at the al-Salam Palace in Jeddah to grant them the honor, as well as a million riyals, in recognition of the heroics of the two students.

He expressed to them his sincerest condolences, hailing their selfless humanitarian sacrifice to save others.

The relatives in turn thanked King Salman for his honorable gesture.
