Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Monday directed the Saudi government to support Algeria and provide assistance in its efforts to combat the wildfires that have spread across the north of the country.

The king directed the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to send urgent humanitarian aid to help those affected by the fires.

In this regard, King Salman held a phone call with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, informing him that the Kingdom was following with great care and concern the deadly forest fires in Algeria and the loss of lives incurred.

For his part, Tebboune expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the king for his genuine brotherly sentiments and efforts to help the Algerian people.

Also, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed in a statement its “deep sadness and sorrow” over the fires and “the human and material losses caused.”
