'King of Tottenham returns!' Spurs fans react as 'wizard' Gareth Bale makes transfer switch

Tottenham Hotspur fans are absolutely delighted that their club has re-signed one of the side’s greatest-ever players in Gareth Bale.

Bale has put pen-to-paper on a season-long loan deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium seven years after leaving to move to Real Madrid.

The 31-year-old moved to the Spanish capital back in 2013 for what was then a world-record transfer fee of £86m.

The Wales star won two La Liga titles, four Champions League trophies, one Copa del Rey playing for Madrid and has come back to north London as a much more experienced player.

Bale flew to London on Friday after completing a medical in Madrid, and is joined by team-mate Sergio Reguilon, who has signed a five-year deal with Spurs.

Losing Bale seven years ago was inevitable but that didn’t prevent the pain for Spurs fans who had to see their star player move on from the club.

So, it comes as no surprise now that they are absolutely thrilled with the return of Bale.

In his last season with the club before moving to Spain, Bale took both Footballer of the Year prizes - scoring 21 goals in 33 league appearances.

More than seven years after leaving, Bale has now broken his silence following the move, taking to Twitter to say: “To all the Spurs fans, after 7 years, I’m back! #COYS @SpursOfficial”.
