King Kong Bundy dead: WWE legend and former Hulk Hogan rival dies at 61

Legendary wrestler King Kong Bundy has died aged 61.

Promoter and long-standing friend David Herro confirmed the passing of the former WWE star, whose real name is Christopher Alan Pallies.

Bundy is best known for being the heel to Hulk Hogan’s babyface during the 80s.

He faced Hogan for the WWF Championship in the second ever Wrestlemania in 1986, losing the steel cage match.

It was a historic event, being the first ever singles match at the now iconic pay-per-view event, as well as the first cage match on that stage.

Herro wrote: “Today we lost a Legend and a man I consider family. Rest in Peace Chris.

“We love you. Thank you for believing in me.”

Bundy’s passing comes just months after another star of the golden age of the company wrestling announcer ”Mean” Gene Okerlund passed away.
