‘King Curtis’ looks unrecognisable after saying ‘I wanna be fat and happy’ on Wife Swap

The kid known as King Curtis, who became a viral sensation after appearing on Wife Swap, looks unrecognisable 13 years later.

Curtis Holland was only six when he was on the US version of the show and quickly became an internet sensation thanks to his straight-talking attitude.

The youngster famously fought with his fitness fanatic mum Joy, telling her "Chicken nuggets is like my family."

He also said: "I don’t wanna be skinny! I wanna be fat and happy."

And later wrote: “I am not listening to your rules" on a Post-It note during one of his many run-ins with his despairing mum.

But it was the iconic "Bacon is good for me" that made Curtis an internet meme, with the soundbite later being remixed into a song.

Roll on 13 years and King Curtis is working as a welder and looks a world away from his childhood days.

In one snap he poses with a dear and rifle sporting a beard and in another he sits in a boat holding a fish he's just caught.

While Curtis has changed physically, one things remains the same - or at least it did in 2017.

Speaking to the New Statesman four years ago, King Curtis revealed he still loved bacon.

"Every morning my mum gets up and we all cook bacon together," he said.

In fact Curtis' love of bacon reportedly lead to him being offered the change of being a mascot for local butcher.

Discussing his internet popularity, the teenager said: "We live in a small community, and a lot of people say that I’m the movie star.

"I mean I don’t have a Twitter but a lot of people say that I’m up there just about every week."

Curtis' fan base stretches far and wide with Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale wanting to find out about the reality star in 2015.

He replied to her on YouTube and confirmed he'd been approached to film a pilot reality series in 2012.

However the deal fell through.

Curtis did star in an episode of Pawn Stars about an American family run pawn shop in 2016, but he's since put his reality career on the back-burner.

However, paying homage to the amount of memes he's amassed, Curtis concluded: "If I can go up to somebody and make their day and make them smile, I feel like I’ve done a great thing."
