King Charles' first visit to Ayrshire since becoming Monarch as diary is laid bare

King Charles made his first visit to Ayrshire since becoming monarch in September.

The King's train was spotted pulling in to Ayr station last night and whisked Charles and his entourage away from the region. This is also His Majesty's first time using the royal train since becoming King.

Charles is taking part in a number of public engagements in Manchester today.

But before the King left Ayrshire under cover of darkness last night, he was conducting a number of meetings and hosting various visitors at Dumfries House in Cumnock this week.

The Queen Consort also joined the King for the Scottish trip with Camilla attending events in Aberdeen.

Appearing to arrive at the region on Wednesday, the King hosted a reception for British Muslim Faith leaders taking part in the Mosaic Leadership Programme.

Sir Ian Cheshire, chairman of The Prince of Wales's Charitable Fund, and Ms N. Jeffery, chief executive officer at Dumfries House, met with the King in the evening at Dumfries House.

Yesterday, more guests arrived at Dumfries House for a meeting of The Prince's Trust and The Prince's Trust International.
