As Dublin gears up for four days of sub-zero temperatures, kindhearted locals have been hanging up their spare coats underneath Connolly Bridge.
The county was left shocked last week after the untimely death of at least three homeless people in the space of a week taking the death toll in Ireland this year to over 50.
The body of a man in his 40s was found near the IFSC; a homeless Dublin mother-of-four, was found dead in a tent in Clondalkin and the body of another man was found at a premises at North Frederick Street during the final days of October.
The picture of the coats under the iconic Connolly Bridge was taken and organised by Dublin organisation Warm For Winter.
They said: "31 warm coats and hats dropped off under Connolly Bridge, Dublin this evening.
"Weather due to get rough over the weekend. Clothes may not be essential for the big boys in the Dail."
They added: "But for the people sleeping on the street there's nothing more essential."
"Thank you all again, your support has done this for the less fortunate."
A sign beside the coats reads: "If you need one, please take one. If you want to help, please hang one up."
What a wonderful thing to do.
