Kinder way to deal with lying sellouts

Jeremy Corbyn’s kinder politics speech (Report, 30 September) was certainly at odds with his deputy Tom Watson’s words about Lib Dems – “that useless bunch of lying sellouts” – in “one of the more thoughtful – and carefully crafted – speeches of the week”.

• Yes, I’d noticed Quorn had new owners (Report, 1 October). Quorn roast from Tesco, usual price about £2.50, .  A week or so ago it went on special offer at £1.25 as “end of line.”  Yesterday, new stock infancy packaging at £3.50, and that’s a 40% price increase in two weeks. Guardian veggies beware.
