Kind woman saves driver from parking ticket and is praised for generous gesture

With all that's happened so far in 2020, it's fair to say we could all use a little more kindness.

One woman recently showed how wonderful humans can be when she stepped in to save a stranger from getting a parking fine.

The woman, named Sarah, generously bought a car park ticket for the unknown driver and placed it under the windscreen wiper of the car, along with a handwritten note explaining the situation.

It turned out a traffic warden had been about to slap a fine on the car due to a mix-up with a local parking charge suspension, reports Liverpool Echo.

Speaking to the publication, Sarah explained how she had been returning to her own vehicle near High Street, in Prescot, when she spotted the warden.

Acting fast, she got the driver a two hour ticket from the machine to spare them from a £30 penalty.

She scribbled a quick note which read: "The traffic warden was giving you a ticket.

"So I bought you a ticket to save you £30, Sarah."

Sarah then shared a photo of the car and the note on Facebook, in hopes of finding the driver to let them know they now only had a certain amount of time to return to the car.

She captioned the post, writing: "If this is your car in the car park behind Ray's Bakery, the traffic warden was giving you a ticket so I bought you a ticket but you only have two hours.

"So be back for 12 as I'm sure he will be waiting.

"It's confusing as it says parking charges suspended but that's only for the first car park apparently."

Many people commented on the post, applauding Sarah for her kind gesture.

One person said: "The world needs more people like you. You never know how bad of a day this person could be having and you have just saved it."

Another replied: "What a kind gesture Sarah.

"This is so simple and yet probably meant the world to them. Well done you!"
