Generous well-wishers have raised more than £6,500 for a Scots DPD delivery driver found seriously injured while on shift.
The 45-year-old was found on on Portland Place at around 12.40pm on Tuesday.
He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries where he remains.
Police Scotland confirmed a 25-year-old man had now been arrested in connection with the incident.
On Monday night a GoFundMe page was launched to support the victim.
In less than 24 hours, £6,590 has been raised.
A statement on the page read: "We are raising money for the DPD driver stabbed today, May 19, 2020 in Hamilton.
"Many will know this man from his rounds and will agree he is such a lovely man who goes out his way to make sure we all get our parcels.
"As if he wasn’t risking his life enough to then have this happen to him.
"As most drivers are on a self employed basis we thought we should set up a go fund me to try help support him and his family at this awful time."
Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the disturbance to come forward.
A spokeswoman told the Record: “Police were called about 12.40pm on Tuesday, 19 May, 2020, to a report of a disturbance in Portland Place, Hamilton.
"A 45-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this and enquiries are ongoing.
"Officers remain at the scene conducting enquiries to establish the full circumstances.
"Anyone who witnessed this and has not yet spoken to officers is urged to contact police on 101 and quote incident 1481 of May 19."
