Generous Killie fans have stumped up more than £17,000 to pay for the Rugby Park club's Covid breach fine.
Supporters have smashed an initial fundraising target set by the Killie Trust and the Kilmarnock Football Club Supporters Association (KFCSA).
A coronavirus outbreak at Rugby Park saw a Premiership game with Motherwell called off in October, with an SPFL disciplinary panel initially awarding the Steelmen a 3-0 win.
Killie appealed and that was overturned on Friday but they were still hit with a £20,000 fine with half suspended until the end of the season.
The Killie Trust board announced yesterday they had committed £5,000 of general fund money towards the £10,000 penalty issued to the club with fans of the Ayrshire side being called on to help fund the other half.
And kind supporters answered the rallying cry by shelling out more than £17,000 less than a day after the fundraising campaign began.
Kilmarnock assistant manager Andy Millen told the Daily Record the SPFL are "not living in the real world" after fans rushed to the Rugby Park club's aid.
Speaking after the 2-0 loss to Hibernian yesterday, he said: "I was unfortunate to have it myself, my whole family was down with it.
“These people making these decisions are not using common sense, they’re not in the real world.
“You only need to see what’s happening in English football, there’s no hysteria.
“If the game is off, it’s off. The most important thing is people’s lives are at stake.
“If the appeal had gone against us, that’s life.
“I was always quietly confident sensible people doing sensible things would get to the right answer.
“There are clubs in the lower leagues in Scotland who have been unable to play games.
“But it doesn’t make you a bad person if you have Covid.
“If anyone thinks they can stay away from it, you can do your best, but there are no guarantees.
“From Kilmarnock’s point of view we’re happy common sense has prevailed.
“But it’s a sideshow. The most important thing is what happens on the pitch.
“We don’t want to be a club that hides behind whatever is going on.”
Killie fans can still donate to the fundraiser here.
