Kind-hearted West Lothian schoolgirl raises nearly £300 for Children in Need

A big hearted schoolgirl put her best foot forward to raise nearly £300 for Children in Need.

Lily Reynolds, from Broxburn, organised a ramble around woods near her home with friends and family to raise the money.

Proud mum Jaimee explained: “Lily has been asking for the past few years if she can do something to raise money for Children In Need.

“This year, after watching an episode of BBC’s Countryfile, we decided to go for it.

“Instead of joining a prearranged Countryfile ramble, we arranged our own. We chose to walk the circular loop through North Woods near Dechmont. It is off road and was very muddy.

“Lily took a note to her school to let her school friends know and to see if anyone wanted to join us and Harris, her five-year-old brother, also told his school friends.

“We also invited some family members. I set up a Facebook event and a JustGiving page to help us raise funds.

“Twenty one of us, 13 of which were children, the youngest being two and the eldest eight years old, walked the 3.3 mile circuit on Saturday, October and we raised a wonderful £280 for Children In Need.
