Kind-hearted singing sensations Alfie and Jack aiming to help NHS heroes

Two kind-hearted youngsters who appeared on This Morning to talk about their generous gesture singing to care home residents are raising money for our NHS heroes.

The Lennox Herald last week reported how Alfie King and Jack Mullen took to the gardens of local facilities to put on a special show for residents.

And their story got so much attention, they ended up appearing via video link on the daytime show, being interviewed by Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Alfie told the presenters: “I’ve always loved performing and raising spirits while making people feel something.

“To me music is the only thing that can let you let out your true emotions.”

And Jack, from Old Bonhill who attends the Vale of Leven Academy, told how the pair are part of a special Facebook page trying to help people through lockdown.

He added: “We are on a page called Covid Choir where you can post videos to brighten up spirits because music is one of the only ways for people to unite.”

Because of the publicity they have generated, the duo have been inundated with people wishing to buy them equipment or contribute some pocket money.

But instead they have asked for donations to be made in their name instead.

Alfie said: “We support local charities Robin House Children’s Hospice and Beatson Cancer Charity/Vale of Leven Oncology Unit and have donated our gig fees and busking monies to them.

“If you feel that you would like to make a donation to help us to continue to support these charities that would be amazing.

“To add to this any donations received will be split equally between the above charities and the NHS who are doing a fantastic job at this time.

“We will also aim to support those most vulnerable in our society at this time.”

They have set up a Justgiving page.

Signing off on their interview on This Morning last week, host Phil said: “You have certainly made a lot of people very happy.”

Alfie’s mum Tracy spoke of the bond the boys have made and said: “They have got such a great friendship as they are interested in the same things.

“A lot of young boys are into sport but they just want to sing. It’s lovely.”
