Kind-hearted Lanarkshire woman who goes above and beyond for others is praised by her grateful boss

A 50-year-old carer who "goes above and beyond" to help out, has been nominated for the Wishaw Press Say It With Flowers competition.

Lynn Martin's hard work and dedication to help the elderly people in her care was praised by line manager, Jacqueline Woods, this week.

A carer with SCRT Homecare in Motherwell for almost 10 years, Lynn has dedicated her life to caring for elderly service users across the length and breadth of Lanarkshire.

Nominating her colleague, Jacqueline told Lanarkshire Live : “Lynn has been working here for nearly 10 years now.

"Nothing is too much trouble for her and she goes above and beyond for our service users.

“She primarily looks after elderly people across North Lanarkshire. She is so compassionate and hard working.

"She is just amazing; she is fantastic. There are not enough good things I can say about her.

"She would do anything to help anybody.”

Mum-of-two Lynn, originally from Glasgow, has two grown up sons, Charles and David, and now lives in Viewpark with her partner, Joseph McFarlane.

As well as looking after her family, she dedicates her life to caring for the needs of others.

And when Jacqueline told us about Lynn, we were only too pleased to help, surprising her with this beautiful floral arrangement, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.

Jacqueline told us: “I think Lynn will be delighted to receive these flowers.

"She deserves this award so much. She goes above and beyond for others and despite her troubles at home she doesn’t let it get her down. She would do anything she can to help our service users.”

A delighted Lynn said: “I would like to say thanks to Jacqueline and all the staff at SCRT for doing a good job, and also thanks to the Wishaw Press for nominating me and to Pixies Petals for these lovely flowers.”
