Kind hearted Howth dad to push buggy from Sligo to Dublin to raise money for children's hospital

A big hearted Dublin dad will be walking across Ireland to raise money for a vital cause.

Eugene O'Leary is pushing a buggy from Sligo to Dublin in a bid to fundraise for Crumlin Children's Hospital.

The selfless Howth man has been cycling and walking all over the world fundraising for charity since his daughter, a patient at Crumlin Children's Hospital died in 2002.

He has raised over €150,000 over the course of 19 years.

His cycles have included the Arctic Circle, the Camino, the USA, and South Africa.

Eugene began his 10 day race on Tuesday and has already raised €15,158 of the €20,000 target.

He started walking from the Custom House Quay, Sligo and will be finishing in Howth.

Speaking on Facebook, he added: "I will be camping all along the way, so offers of sleeping in a hay barn or a shed on a rainy night will be greatly appreciated."
