Kind-hearted Alexandria veteran raises over £5000 for charity with piping skills

A kind-hearted ex-serviceman donated £5000 to a veterans’ charity after spending his summer bagpiping to raise funds.

Captain Bryan Warren, 82, entertained shoppers at Loch Lomond Shores to raise cash for the Erskine charity on behalf of the Vale of Leven Remembrance Association.

The Alexandria man has played the bagpipes for more than 50 years and presented the staff at the charity with a cheque for £5000 to help veterans.

This is the fourth year he has played at the Balloch tourist spot for Erskine.

He said: “I want to thank all of the customers and staff at Lomond Shores for supporting this great cause.”

Karen McAulay who is the fundraising manager for Erskine said: “This is a fantastic donation from the remembrance association and will help us to continue to provide invaluable support and care for the veterans at Erskine.”
