An egg-stra special Calderbank couple ensured villagers had a cracking time over Easter with their selfless work.
Elizabeth and Jamie Cummings sprang into action to deliver a choc-a-block collection of Easter eggs to children and pensioners in the community.
The generous duo also raised nearly £130 for St Andrew's Hospice during a bucket collection.
Mum-of-three Elizabeth told Lanarkshire Live : "Jamie and I were delighted to organise the Easter events with the help of some kind-hearted locals.
"Glen Cooke, who has been doing amazing work for the community too, was our Easter Bunny and my mum Fiona Welsh was another pair of fantastic helping hands.
"We had donations come in from local people and businesses to buy eggs and managed to get more than 500.
"We gave out 205 eggs to children from Calderbank and surrounding areas and more than 200 eggs to adults and pensioners.
"And, because we had some leftover eggs, we took them down to Carnbroe Care Centre as they have several of our community members in their care.
"Jamie and I also held a bucket collection over two days and managed to raise £129.39 for St Andrew's Hospice - and gave the hospice's staff some chocolate eggs as well.
"We cannot thank everyone who made a donation enough for their generosity."
Despite having three kids of her own and being a childminder, Elizabeth shows no signs in slowing down in her and Jamie’s support for the community.
She said: “We’re trying to keep the village in the loop with what we’re doing as much as possible.
“People tend to respond when they are given an incentive to plan things, especially in support of each other during the pandemic.
“I was brought up in the village and know most of the people – and introduce myself to those I don’t know.
“I need to be busy and really enjoy what Jamie and I do; it's a pleasure."
