Kind cop buys car seats for kids after pulling over mum for wrong registration

A police officer has been dubbed the 'world's kindest cop' for buying car seats for two children after a routine stop.

Kevin Zimmermann pulled over a car for having the wrong registration and found that the kids inside did not have their seatbelts on.

Their mum, the driver, told him she did not have enough cash to buy child car seats as she needed the money to buy the youngsters winter coats and other items.

Mr Zimmermann was called away to an emergency but took the woman's number and later bought two seats, which he even installed in Andrella Jackson's car.

She told WTMJ-TV: "With bills coming up and winter coming up, I have to get coats and boots and shoes for my kids.

"So it was hard for me. Now, I'm able to finish getting coats. He's awesome. I really love him. I really appreciate everything he did for me."

Mr Zimmermann said: "I'm a father myself, I have three kids. I thought of my kids jumping around. What if a car hit them and they flew and got seriously hurt, if not killed?"

Ms Jackson told the cop she was not able to get her car properly registered because of her financial situation.

According to The Sun, Milwaukee Police Department praised the officer for his act of kindness.

The department said: "The officer observed that the children in the car were not properly restrained and took it upon himself to purchase two car seats for her.

“Thank you Officer Zimmermann for going the extra mile and going above and beyond your call of duty.”
