The actors, who played Brendan Brady and Jacqui McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, are also parents to son Ocean-Torin Scanlan, who is nearly two.

Scanlan also has a daughter, Kayla, from a previous relationship.

The announcement comes as the UK based Irish star confirmed he is back on home soil to film the second series of KIN.

He posted snaps from behind the scenes, to the backdrop of Thin Lizzy’s The Boys Are Back in Town.

Posing in a gym in front of a mirror alongside his co-star Sam Keely who plays Eric “Viking” Kinsella in the hit RTE One show, he also teased: “And so it begins…… again. #Kin2”.
