Kim Novak has implied that Sydney Sweeney is too busty to play her in Scandalous!
The Colman Domingo-directed movie chronicles her 1950s romance with legendary singer Sammy Davis Jr - who is portrayed by David Jonsson.
Kim, 93, told The Times newspaper: "I would never have approved."
She then argued: "Sticks out so much above the waist."
The retired actress and the legendary Rat Pack singer - who died of laryngeal cancer in May 1990, at the age of 64 - met in 1956 on The Steve Allen Show and later entered a romantic relationship.
The interracial couple were the subject of heavy criticism both in and out of Hollywood during a time of racial tensions in the US, and Columbia Pictures head Harry Cohn threatened the I've Gotta Be Me singer to end the relationship.
In 1958, a Chicago gossip columnist penned an expose about the love affair, claiming they were planning to marry – although both denied this.
The story quickly spread throughout the nation. Davis went on to marry a black woman called Loray White in 1958, while Novak wed white actor Richard Johnson seven years later.
Kim is concerned that the film focuses too much on the sexual element of their relationship, despite the fact that she and Sammy "had so much in common".
The Vertigo cast member said: "There’s no way it wouldn’t be a sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney looks sexy all the time. She was totally wrong to play me."
Earlier this month, Sydney - who is "incredibly honoured" to play Kim in Scandalous! - admitted she "never felt confident" about having big boobs until she starred as Cassie in the HBO teen drama, Euphoria.
The 28-year-old actress told Us Weekly: "I grew up with boobs. I was wearing a 32DD in sixth grade, and I never felt confident.
"I never had anything I felt good in, and I just wanted to hide. It wasn’t until [I played] Cassie in Euphoria that I started realising it’s actually powerful to be confident.
"Our bodies are incredible. We should embrace [them] and feel really good in our skin."
The Housemaid cast member previously admitted she longed to have a breast reduction when she was younger, but she is "so glad" she didn't go through with the procedure.
Sydney told Britain's Glamour magazine in 2023: "When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my boobs were, and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a boob job to make them smaller.
"And my mom told me, ‘Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college.’ And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends.
"Everybody’s body is beautiful. When you are confident and you’re happy within is when it really shows to other people.
"Once I became more confident with myself, [it changed]. I want to show girls that it’s amazing and beautiful and empowering to have the bodies that we have."
