Kim Leadbeater warns UK ‘not in a better place’ on political violence 10 years since sister Jo Cox’s murder

Jo Cox's sister Kim Leadbeater has warned that the UK is "not in a better place" on political violence 10 years since the Labour MP was murdered.

The mother-of-two, 41, was shot and stabbed by neo-Nazi Thomas Mair in her Batley and Spen constituency days before the EU referendum in June 2016.

Speaking to Sky News on Friday (24 April), Ms Leadbeater, who is now a Labour MP in her sister's constituency, said: "I don't think we're in a better place than we were in 2016. And that is a bit depressing, but it doesn't mean that we give up hope, and we all need to keep working towards the kind of political culture that I think we should be giving the public."
