Kim Kardashian has asked Twitter to bring in an editing feature – and the social network’s co-founder seems to like the idea.

The reality star, who has almost 34 million followers on the site, put out her suggestion yesterday evening.

“I just emailed Twitter to see if they can add an edit feature so that when u misspell something u don't have to delete & repost,” she wrote. “Let's see…”

With her post getting 25,000 retweets and 57,000 favourites, it appears that a lot of people agree.

It came to the attention of Jack Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter in 2006, and he suggested that the idea may be taken on board.

“Great idea!” he said. “We're always looking at ways to make things faster and easier.”

His response prompted a thank you from Kardashian, who is known for sharing photos of herself, husband Kanye West, their children and family.

Twitter has more than 300 million active users sending 500 million tweets a day in 33 supported languages.

Posts must contain a maximum of 140 characters and once sent, can be deleted but not changed.

Although the site does not have an automatic spell checking tool, associated platforms including Tweetdeck offer it as an option.
