Is it second time lucky for Kim Kardashian?
She not only got a new kitten for Christmas, but wants to name it after a cat Kanye gifted her 10 years ago – that she promptly gave away and which died shortly after.
The reality star posted footage of her whistling at the new kitten: "Hey! Mercy number two!" as the cat blended into the white mausoleum-like mansion that she shares with her ex Kanye.
Mercy was also the name of the short-lived tea cup Persian kitten she was given in 2012, which she said she was allergic to, and gave to sister Khloe’s then-assistant, Sydney.
Tragically, the kitty died from a virus a month later.
At the time, Kim posted about the loss on her blog: "It is with deep sadness that I have to tell you all that my kitten, Mercy, has passed away. My heart is completely broken. We are all going to miss her so much.
"Thanks to Sydney for making Mercy’s short life one filled with love."
Kim has previously confessed "I’m not the biggest animal person", but strangely appears to be no longer allergic to cats, and is hoping for more luck with Mercy No2, which confusingly daughter North wants to call Frosty.
