Kim Kardashian sends Leeds United praise to her millions of Instagram followers

Kim Kardashian has thanked Leeds United for their help in setting up the Afganistan Women's Youth Football Team following their arrival in England.

It had been reported last month that the Whites helped 130 footballers from Afghanistan to move to England as Kardashian also backed the charter flight that flew the group into Stansted airport.

The girls have now subsequently settled into the UK and have begun training at Thorp Arch.

On Tuesday, the players trained at Leeds' training ground for the first time, before being taken to Elland Road to watch Marcelo Bielsa's team beat Crystal Palace 1-0 in the Premier League.

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani admitted he was delighted to welcome the team to the club and is looking forward to working with the group in the near future.

Radrizzani's Play for Change Charitable Trust have also been involved in the efforts to bring the team and their families to the UK.

In an Instagram story, Kardashian has also claimed that she is 'happy' to see the Afgan Women's Team at Leeds after tagging the club, Radrizzani and former captain Khalida Popal in the post.

The 41-year-old Unites States TV personality said: "So happy to see the Afganistan Women's Youth team training."

Kardashian, who boasts over 267 million followers on Instagram, has been involved with the campaign to get the team set-up in the UK alongside Leeds and Radrizzani.

Back in November, Radrizzani said: "We are delighted the Afghan Women & Girls Development Football Team and their families led by their brave, former captain Khalida Popal have landed safely in the UK, following extensive efforts by a number of partners.

"We are honoured to have played our part and are grateful that the UK government has enabled their resettlement in the UK.

"This demonstrates the power of football, and sport in general, as a force for good and shows how the football community is able to collaborate and mobilise to save lives.

"Through Play for Change Charitable Trust and Leeds United we stand ready to support the girls and their families in building an inclusive and prosperous future. We can’t wait to see them playing football again."
