When it comes to fashion’s biggest night, Kim Kardashian does not mess around, and we pretty much know we’re in for a moment when this miss thing rocks up. But I bet she wasn’t expecting a snag this year to be a (near) faceplant… even before she hit the venue.
In videos already blowing up our TikTok on Tuesday, Kim’s seen leaving her hotel to head over to the Met Gala with daughter North (in her Met Gala debut!!).
But after a few steps, she just about dodges a fall in front of the cameras after an unassuming security guard steps on her dress. It’s a moment that might’ve been right up there with the hot greeter accidentally photo-bombing Kylie Jenner back in 2023 for the Kar-Jenners, but Kimmy handles it pretty well.
She recovers quickly, whipping around to say something to the guard, before she’s on her way out to The Met.
And in case you were wondering, the fit? Pretty damn divine. Kim eventually graced the red carpet in a leather off-the-shoulder bodice and skirt that’s giving curves for days. Her neck was dripping in diamonds and she paired the fit with an oversized fedora that’s lowkey giving Carmen Sandiego but hey, I’m here for it.

She even managed to share a few TikToks with North before the event, where we get a peep at North’s cowhide jacket and shorts combo, paired with black Nike high crew socks and black leather trainers.
The theme this year is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” in honor of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit exploring Black dandyism. The dress code? “Tailored for You,” meaning we got to see some crisp and tailored looks, rejigged for celebs’ personal style.
Kimmy wasn’t even the only member of this famous family to make the guest list, with lil sis Kendall Jenner keeping things sleek and simple with pared-back styling to let her suiting-inspired gown do the talking.
And as for the near-fall that’s going to be a blip on the radar? You handled it great, sweetie!!
