Kim Kardashian opened up in a recent episode of The Kardashians about a moment that clearly still sits heavily with her. She recalled how Kanye West once accused her of lying about the Paris robbery, and did it in front of other people, too.
She said, “My ex husband had said, ‘And you faked your robbery for a TV show,’ and had said that in front of all these people,” which she admitted felt like a deep cut. “That was a knife to my heart,” she said in her confessional, and you could tell she meant it.
Kim explained that it was not just the accusation itself but the fact that it came from someone who had been so close to her. She said, “Just to think that someone wouldn’t believe you, that’s so close to you, that should know you, that should know how much that affected your life, it just really bothered me. You don’t know who I am.” Her voice in the episode carried that mix of hurt and exhaustion that comes from trying to move past something that refuses to stay in the past, reported US Weekly.

Many people still remember the details of what happened to her in Paris back in October 2016. She was staying in a luxury private residence during Paris Fashion Week when armed robbers broke in. Kim was tied up and locked in a bathroom while jewellery worth more than ten million dollars was taken. It shocked the world at the time and became one of the most widely reported celebrity crimes of the decade.
Years later, she returned to Paris for the trial in 2025. Eight of the ten defendants were found guilty. Kim said facing them in court was difficult but also necessary. In her confessional, she said, “To finally be able to go to trial and face these people and hear their accounts and apologies, I’m like, see, guys. It was real.” There was a sense of relief in her voice. She followed it with, “I’m happy it’s over,” which pretty much summed up how long this chapter has been hanging over her.

Kim and Kanye were still married when the robbery happened. Their relationship had already been through plenty of public ups and downs before they eventually divorced in 2021. The divorce was finalised in 2022. Despite everything, they continue to co-parent their four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. It is clear that even with all the history and all the headlines, some memories linger in ways that are hard to shake.
The episode showed a quieter, more vulnerable side of Kim. She is usually composed even when the world is watching, but this moment showed the emotional weight she has been carrying. Her honesty about how much it hurt to have someone she once trusted question her truth struck a chord with many viewers.
While she has long moved forward in her personal and professional life, the Paris robbery remains one of the defining moments of her story. Hearing her revisit it after all these years reminded people that public figures live with private scars and sometimes the hardest wounds are the ones reopened by those closest to them.
