Kim Kardashian's best friend takes swipe at Kanye as he says he 'isn't surprised' they split

Fans may have been shocked when Kim Kardashian finally called it a day with Kanye West and filed for divorce.

But it wasn't news to her best pal Jonathan Cheban, who wasn't "surprised" by the former couple's decision to go their separate ways.

Kim and Kanye tied the knot in 2014 but she filed court papers requesting a divorce in March. But Jonathan has insisted he won't be taking sides if things went sour as he "loves them both".

"Everything is open on the show, they question everything. I am not surprised it really happened, I love them both," he told The Wendy Williams Show.

"Kim is studying for the bar again right now I just spoke to her yesterday, I really like them both though, they are amazing."

And Jonathan admits he misses Kanye's "brilliant energy" now the rapper isn't around.

He said: "I miss Kanye, I miss him around, I miss his brilliant energy."

"'I love it, I love it! He is always ahead of the times, he is inspiring."

Kim might be newly-single but she hasn't got time for love at the moment as she's busy looking after her kids - North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two - and preparing for the family's new show now Keeping Up With The Kardashians has ended.

He added: "Kim has a lot on her plate with four kids, and the new show is starting soon for Hulu."

Jonathan was devastated to miss out on the filming of the show's final, after it wrapped this month after a mammoth 20 seasons about the famous reality family.

"I missed it, I was in the episode before. There was a barbecue we were all supposed to go to and because of COVID it got canceled and we couldn't do it. And when it was rescheduled I was not in Los Angeles," he explained when asked about his absence from the finale.

"I have been on the show for 13 years and it's weird to not be filming on that show at the moment."
