Their marriage may have broken down, but Kim Kardashian and Kanye West continue to be on good terms for the sake of their kids.
The businesswoman and reality star was talking about her relationship with her former husband on the Keeping Up With The Kardashians reunion show. The two-parter is available to stream on Hayu from tonight, with the second episode on Monday.
Asked bluntly by host Andy Cohen what had caused the couple to divorce, Kim said: "I honestly don't think I would even say it here on TV, but it was not like, one specific thing that happened on either part."
"I think it was just a general difference of opinions on a few things that led to this decision. And like, in no way would I want someone to think that I didn't give it my all, or not really try."
The couple have four children – North, aged eight, Saint, who is five, Chicago, three and Psalm, just two. They have been her priority, Kim reveals.
Referring to her own childhood, when her mum Kris and dad Robert split up when she was 11, she added:
“There's nothing that I think parents would want more than to see, or even kids want more, than to see their parents together. I grew up and I lived that myself.”
And even though they’re not husband and wife anymore, the 40-year-old considers her ex to be close. She continued:
“I will forever be Kanye's biggest fan. He's the father of my kids, Kanye will always be family.”
Kanye, 44, has been seen on a romantic holiday in France with Russian model, Irina Shayk, the former partner of Bradley Cooper.
While Kim has given her blessing for this relationship, she said she would consider dating someone who wasn’t in the public eye.
“Just someone who would understand what this life is about, though,” she admitted.
“But I think what I was looking for and who I was, you know, years ago is completely different than who I am today. And I value privacy, and I just want something that's, like, really real.”
