Kim Kardashian describes anxiety over tight dress in new Met Gala video

Kim Kardashian has revealed the anxiety she felt over the tight-fitting dress she chose to wear to the 2019 Met Gala - at one point saying "I can't breathe" in a newly released clip.

In footage from the upcoming season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the reality star can be seen admitting she has trouble breathing in her corseted dress as she gets ready for the annual fashion-focused event.

“I have anxiety with how tight this is, I can’t breathe,” the 38-year-old told her makeup and hair crew, before asking that they say a prayer for her.

Her team obliged, saying the prayer: “Dear God, please help Kim to breathe and be calm and to look her absolute most gorgeous she’s ever looked in her entire life this evening… [and that] she can breathe and she will hold her p*** in, Amen.”

In keeping with the theme “Camp: Notes on Fashion”, the reality star chose a custom dress by Thierry Mugler designed to look like she was dripping wet, which she previously described as “painful”.

Earlier in the clip, Kardashian revealed that she was more nervous about the event than her wedding to Kanye West.

“This is like, probably just as nerve-wracking as my wedding, like, I don’t know why I get so nervous for the Met,” she said, adding: “Maybe even more so. Just because there’s pictures from every single angle.

According to Kardashian, some of her anxiety had to do with wanting to look perfect in the custom dress, the first made by the designer in more than two decades.

“It’s like a huge responsibility for me because he, I’m sure, after not designing for 20 years, wants it to be something magical and special and new, and I just want it to be perfect,” she said.

In July, the reality star told the Wall Street Journal that the corset she had to wear under the dress left indentations on her back and stomach.

“I have never felt pain like that in my life,” she said. “I’ll have to show you pictures of the aftermath when I took it off - the indentations on my back and my stomach.”
