Kim Kardashian-West’s $60 million fortress just received a major security upgrade. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and her husband, rapper Kanye West, now have a 24/7 manned security pod in their garage for around-the-clock safety, according to Vogue’s May cover story spotlighting Kardashian-West.
Vogue contributing editor Jonathan Van Meter visited the Hidden Hills, California home to interview Kardashian-West for the feature. He had to navigate multiple levels of security to get to the front door. “I had to pass through layers of Pentagon-level security and hesitated at their forbidding front door, which looks like it might be lowered over a moat, before deciding to walk around the side and enter through the garage like a normal person,” Van Meter wrote in the cover feature.
After the notorious Paris robbery, where Kardashian-West was held at gunpoint while masked men wiped her hotel drawers clean of millions of dollars worth of jewels, she invested in extensive security measures for her family.
People reported that Kardashian-West allegedly wanted more undercover security following the incident, as she fired her security guard, Pascal Duvier, and hired an entirely new surveillance squad.
With the new security team monitoring the West family wherever they go and the security pod in the garage on high alert 24 hours a day, it’s unlikely anyone would ever be able to raid this multimillion dollar compound—though Yeezy-lovers may dream of it.
Vogue reported that inside their garage, the West family has a wall of Adidas Yeezy Boost sneakers, which are limited-edition and retail for about $220. True fans of the brand know these kicks sell out almost instantly, so it’s completely reasonable that the West family would choose to place the manned security pod next to the most coveted wall in their home.
