Kim Kardashian among stars glamming up for Met Gala 2021 as pregnant Kylie Jenner is no-show
Tonight, celebrities are prepping for one of the biggest showbiz events of the year as they gear up for the Met Gala.
Kim Kardashian's make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic has been sharing the reality star's secrets to achieving her flawless look as she prepares to step out onto the red carpet this evening in New York City.
The annual event, which usually takes place on the first Sunday in May, is finally returning after it was pushed back in 2020 due to the first lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Kim's 2021 look is yet to be seen, but Mario posted a snippet of the behind-the-scenes work to his Instagram, giving fans a sneak peek.
"Prepping for the #MetGala today with @kimkardashian. Skin courtesy of @lamer."
The Kardashians are always first on the guestlist for the star-studded bash, but this year Kylie Jenner has pulled out.
The 24-year-old, who is pregnant with her second child with Travis Scott, said that she was "so sad" to be missing the event.
Taking to Instagram, Kylie shared throwback photos of her dresses from the past five years, including her iconic purple feathered Versace gown from 2019.
But Kylie added on her Insta stories: "i'm so sad i couldn't make it this year. i can't wait to see all the looks."
Meanwhile, older sister Kendall Jenner was spotted leaving the Greenwich Hotel, wearing a black midi dress and sandals as she made her way to get glam.
Other stars seen getting themselves prepped include model Irina Shayk - who told fans she was pampering her skin at Tracie Martyn.
"Pre met prep," she penned on her Instagram Story, followed by a separate treatment with Mimi Luzon.
She shared: "D beauty queen with her golden glow @mimiluzon love u."
Tennis champion Serena Williams is also attending tonight, and she filmed her make-up to share with her followers.
It appears she went for a gorgeous pink eyeshadow and smoky eyeliner, with flawless skin.
"She can't call me a monster now," Serena joked as she revealed her new look.
Vogue's Anna Wintour will of course host the Met Gala 2021, alongside the likes of songstress Billie Eilish and actor Timothée Chalamet.
