Kilmuir Drive incident: Police enquiries continuing into death of man found in burning vehicle

Police enquiries are continuing following the death of a man found within a vehicle that went on fire in the Arden area of Glasgow.

Officers, alongside fire and ambulance crews, raced to the scene of the incident in the Kilmuir Drive area near to Arden Community Hall around 11:10am yesterday morning in response to reports of a car being on fire.

Sadly, after the fire was extinguished, a 39-year-old man, who was within the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed that there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers were called to a car on fire in the Kilmuir Drive area of Glasgow at around 11.10am on Saturday, 17 April, 2021. Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.

"The 39-year-old man, who was within the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Police enquiries are continuing, however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
