Kilmarnock woman dies following motorcycle crash in Stirling

A Kilmarnock woman has died yesterday following a motorcycle crash in Stirling.

Shirley-Ann Barnes was seriously injured in the incident at on the Pirnhall Stirling Services roundabout on Sunday.

The 57-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow following the crash but police confirmed this evening that she passed away yesterday.

Paying tribute to Shirley-Ann, her family said that she will be sorely missed.

The statement said: "We have so much hurt in our hearts, but at this sad time, we find comfort in how much Shirley-Ann meant to so many people, especially in the biking community.

"She will continue to ride with everyone still, she will be so very missed."

A statement from police on Monday said that Shirley Ann had been riding her Yamaha Virago motorbike at the services when she appears to have lost control and left the roadway near the junction for the A872.
