Several Kilmarnock streets have been sealed off this morning as the emergency services deal with what looks like a very serious incident.
Up to 20 police vehicles – marked and unmarked – have swooped on a location in the town centre earlier tonight.
Officers have been joined by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance service.
Access to a number of streets has been blocked by a police cordone.
Woodstock Street through to North Hamilton Street has been blocked off.
Morton Place on to Lindsay Street has also been closed right through to Old Irvine Road.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
