Kilmarnock town centre road closed as emergency services attend blaze

Police have closed a road in Kilmarnock town centre this evening as emergency services deal with an ongoing incident.

Scottish Fire and Rescue personnel are currently at Fulton's Lane along with officers.

Police say they've been asked to attend and assist crews after receiving reports of a fire.

Cops say they're still at the scene along with firefighters and that the road remains closed.

An eyewitness has reported considerable activity at the scene behind Black's Bar.

They've said that police are guarding the scene at the moment.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 5.50pm on Friday, March 26, officers were called to assist Scottish Fire and Rescue following a report of a fire at a property on Fulton’s Lane, Kilmarnock.

"Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is currently closed.”
