Alfredo Morelos racist abuse claims investigated by Kilmarnock as Rangers striker branded 'black b******'

Kilmarnock will investigate claims that Alfredo Morelos was the subject of racist abuse on Wednesday night.

Steven Gerrard's side lost more ground in the title race at Rugby Park as they lost 2-1 to Kilmarnock.

But the game has been marred with an audio clip emerging online in the wake of the clash, with fans claiming he was on the receiving end of vile racist slurs.

As Rangers striker Morelos goes to take a throw-in in the 28th minute, supporters insist they can hear a man shouting 'black b*****d' at the Colombian, who doesn't appear to react.

The audio does appear to be inconclusive but fans are adamant the clip is clear evidence of further racial abuse.

And Killie have vowed to look into the incident further.

The Ayrshire club said they "wholeheartedly condemn any form of racism and anyone found to be involved in incidents of this nature will be immediately banned from Rugby Park.

"If anyone has any information then we would encourage them to come forward."

Earlier this week a 12-year-old boy was charged and reported in connection with an alleged racist chant directed at Morelos during the derby win against Celtic on December 29.

A Hearts supporter and two Aberdeen fans were also charged with making racist remarks.
