Kilmarnock thug assaulted girlfriend on Christmas Day while she was holding a baby

A Kilmarnock thug has been jailed after subjecting his girlfriend to a terrifying assault on Christmas Day while she was holding a baby.

Gary McCamon was handed a 15-month jail term and ordered to stay away from his ex after the sickening attack took place on December 25 last year at a property in the town.

The 34-year-old, of Forest Grove, left his partner permanently disfigured as a result of the assault, Kilmarnock Sheriff Court was told last week.

McCamon has been convicted of pushing and repeatedly punching the woman on her body and face – all to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement – while she was holding an infant in her arms.

Passing sentence, Sheriff Alastair Watson jailed McCamon for 15 months and ensured that he will be subject to a non-harassment order for 30 months.
