Kilmarnock teenager threatens to kill neighbour after partner is branded 'fat'

A Kilmarnock teenager who threatened to kill his neighbour was branded “selfish and self-centred” by a sheriff.

David Anderson appeared in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and admitted his abusive behaviour towards a former neighbour in Galston on August 27.

Anderson, 19, became aggressive and began kicking a door in the building.

Prosecutor Vicky McMillan told the court that Anderson, now of Kilmarnock’s MacEwan Place, had told his partner that their neighbour had called her fat.

The couple decided to confront her about this but when the woman denied the allegation Anderson kicked off.

Ms McMillan said: “The accused began to shout and swear and call her a liar.

“Anderson’s partner became fearful of his behaviour and ran across to another neighbour, who allowed her in.”

Ms McMillan continued: “The accused then began to kick at this neighbour’s door to get at his partner and continued to shout and swear in the close.

“He made threats that he was going to kill himself and self-harm.”

Police were called and as Anderson was led away he shouted up at his neighbour that he would kill her.

Anderson pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

His agent told the court: “He had been staying at the property in Galston and there had been difficulties with others in the block of flats.”

Sheriff Jamieson told Anderson: “You’re getting to a point where the only option for you will be the young offenders institution.

“This is just ridiculous to shout and bawl and kick doors.

“People want to live a peaceful life and not have you bother them.

“All you’re doing is being selfish and self-centred and not thinking about anybody but yourself.”

Anderson will be sentenced on October 7.
