Kilmarnock striker Kyle Lafferty bags Scottish Premiership player of the month

Kilmarnock striker Kyle Lafferty has scooped the Scottish Premiership player of the month award for April.

The Northern Irish striker played just two league matches in April, but his hat-trick against Dundee United was enough to win him the award.

The hitman also scored four goals in the Scottish Cup during April, with yet another treble against Stenhousemuir.

Lafferty has been crucial in Killie's bid to stay in the top flight, but he still has plenty to do as his side lie 11th with just two matches remaining.

He picked up an injury which caused him to miss the St Mirren match in which Killie were knocked out of the cup, but he returned against Motherwell.

He is now expected to be fit for the final two matches.
