Airdrieonians have reached a deal with Kilmarnock to keep talented striker Kyle Connell at New Broomfield until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has impressed since moving from Rugby Park on loan in the summer, scoring three times this season – including a winner against leaders Falkirk last month that got their League One promotion bid back on track.
And the club have now been able to keep a hold of him ahead of Saturday's Scottish Cup clash with Edinburgh City.
A statement from Airdrie read: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement to extend striker Kyle Connell’s loan deal until the end of the season.
"Kyle has been a popular figure since joining from Kilmarnock earlier in the season, scoring three goals from eight starts in the Diamond - the most recent a late winner against league leaders Falkirk.
"Our thanks once again go to Kilmarnock FC for their assistance, and we look forward to helping Kyle continue his development at the Penny Cars Stadium."
Airdrie also confirmed the news that loan duo Joshua Burke and Joseph Moore have returned, following a loan to Albion Rovers in October.
The statement added: "Defender Joshua Burke and midfielder Joseph Moore have completed their loan spells at Monklands neighbours Albion Rovers, and we are pleased to welcome them back to the club."
