Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy vows to get back to scoring after dry spell

Eamonn Brophy has vowed to get back on the goal trail as his side head to St Johnstone this weekend.

The 23-year-old striker has found goals hard to come by, scoring just one from open play in 2019.

Kilmarnock have scored just one goal in the regulation 90 minutes over their last five competitive matches, but Brophy reckons they are due to turn the corner.

Speaking to the Kilmarnock Standard, he said: “I think there is frustration about the lack of goals from the team.

“There was disappointment getting knocked out from Connah’s Quay Nomabds, then we lost a late goal to Rangers.

Brophy insists he doesn’t feel any pressure as he dons the No 9 jersey after being handed it following Kris Boyd’s retirement.

Brophy said: It comes with pressure, but at the end of the day it’s just a number.

“Obviously I am the No 9 so I am expected to score the goals, hopefully I can start scoring goals again.

“I am confident in my ability and I am sure that will come.

“I have never doubted
