Kilmarnock street could opened up to traffic in the future

Kilmarnock's busiest street could be opened up to traffic in the future.

East Ayrshire Council are exploring the possibility of opening up King Street to vehicles in the evening, a report says.

Officials plan to carry out a feasibility study into opening up the road to one-way traffic.

The street is currently populated with retail units but bosses believe the move could increase vibrancy in the town.

A portion of the report states: "Carry out a feasibility study on the opening of King Street to traffic one-way in the evening in an attempt to increase vibrancy."
