Kilmarnock street closed off due to suspected fuel leak after 'truck collides with bollard'

A suspected fuel leak has caused a Kilmarnock road to close this morning.

John Dickie Street, at the corner of Bank Street, has been sealed off and an eyewitness claims that a truck collided with a bollard.

A nearby shopkeeper said: "A truck hit one of the bollards on the street and burst its diesel pipe.

"I just tried to walk across the road and it's super slippery, the road has diesel all over it.

"Anyone walking around here needs to watch themselves and I'd imagine they will need someone to come and cover it up."

Clean-up crews are on the scene and are dealing with the incident.
